Jewelry Care

Every Cophades piece is designed to be worn, lived in, and carried through time.

Our jewelry is crafted in sterling silver and created to age naturally with wear. Subtle marks, oxidation, and changes in surface character are part of the material’s evolution and individuality.

With proper care, your piece can last for years while developing its own unique presence.

Sterling Silver & Natural Aging

Sterling silver naturally reacts to air, moisture, skin oils, and environmental exposure over time.

This may result in:

•darkening or tarnishing
•soft oxidation
•surface marks from daily wear

These changes are normal and not considered defects.

Many silver pieces develop deeper character through use and aging.

Daily Care

To help preserve your jewelry:

•Store pieces in a dry place when not in use
•Avoid prolonged exposure to water or humidity
•Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or exercising
•Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, oils, or chemicals
•Wipe pieces gently with a soft cloth after wear

Cleaning Your Jewelry

For regular cleaning:

•use a soft polishing cloth designed for silver jewelry
•gently wipe the surface to remove oils or oxidation

Avoid:

•abrasive materials
•harsh chemical cleaners
•ultrasonic cleaning unless professionally advised

Some finishes and oxidized details are intentionally darkened and may fade with aggressive polishing.

Storage

We recommend storing your jewelry:

•individually when possible
•in a soft pouch or jewelry box
•away from direct sunlight and humidity

Proper storage helps slow oxidation and surface wear.

Wear & Surface Marks

Minor scratches and signs of wear are a natural part of owning sterling silver jewelry.

Over time, each piece develops a unique surface character shaped by the wearer.

This evolution is considered part of the design experience.
